Pull Off Adhesion Tester

The BGD 500 Digital Pull-off Adhesion Tester is a portable, hand-operated instrument designed to measure the force needed to pull a specified test diameter of coating away from its substrate using hydraulic pressure. The pressure is digitally displayed on an LCD, indicating the coating's adhesion strength to the substrate. This tester assesses the adhesion (pull-off strength) of a coating by determining the maximum tensile force it can bear before detachment. Fractured surfaces, revealing breaking points, occur along the weakest plane within the system, comprising the dolly, adhesive, coating layers, and substrate.
