Mitsubishi Pencils

Mitsubishi pencils are used worldwide as the standard for hardness testing, especially in the coatings and paint industry. The pencil hardness test system operates according to international standards such as ASTM D3363, ISO 15184, and JIS K5600. The goal of this test is to determine the scratch resistance of a surface using pencils with different hardness grades.

Mitsubishi UNI JPIA pencils are specifically certified for these tests and are available in hardness grades from 6B (very soft) to 9H (very hard). The full set usually consists of 17 pencils (6B to 9H)
